Lore[]
One of Lord Nebotus’ most successful necromantic innovations, Blaze Night is not a monster so much as an undead magical weapon. Any visitor to Souls’ Lair’s secret hideout would assume that Blaze Night was just a pile of rusty old armor forgotten in a corner of Fayemalice’s throne room. Only a very powerful (and observant) magic user would be able to discern the ironclad enchantments on those seemingly useless scraps of metal.
But when battle rages, a quick incantation is all that’s needed to turn that sad suit of armor into a mighty warrior blazing with necromantic light. Blaze Night’s body, when summoned, is formed from the concentrated energy of trapped monster souls. Some of the most powerful monsters who have ever been defeated are still bound to Blaze Night, forced to fight on behalf of Souls’ Lair regardless of who they were in life.
Could Blaze Night be used to bring the dark Lord of Souls’ Lair back? Possibly, but the irony of Lord Nebotus being bound to his own creation is too strong even for Fayemalice to try that trick.
