Lore[]
Cauddart was the second monster to earn Sibidu’s trust after his many years of solitary hunting. They met by accident in a dark forest pursuing the same bounty. While Sibidu initially planned to kill Cauddart immediately, he noticed the other hunter’s curious set of weapons and became momentarily distracted. This bought Cauddart enough time to hit Sibidu with a bottle of liquid darkness, disorienting him and allowing Cauddart to gain the advantage. Before Sibidu could shake off the noxious shadows, Cauddart had brought down his quarry and was already bringing it in for the bounty.
Several years passed before a chance encounter set both hunters on the same path again. This time, Sibidu was ready. He took Cauddart out at the legs, put him in a chokehold, and demanded to know how he made his weapons. And also, while they were at it, how did he get so good at not being found?!
From this less-than-auspicious beginning sprang an unlikely friendship, which cycled between bouts of jealousy and admiration for the other’s skills. Both were solitary hunters, yet somehow their excursions together were always perfect, a flawless ballet of slaying. And while Sibidu would never admit it out loud, he knows that learning from Cauddart has made him an even more lethal hunter than he would have been without him.
