There are few necromancers with enough power to resurrect a destroyed soul, and Domemane is one of them. While Fayemalice has already recruited him to Souls Lair, Domemane hasn't yet agreed to help her resurrect Lord Nebotus. Frankly, he's enjoying the VIP treatment her supporters give him a little too much.

Lore[]

Domemane was recruited to Souls’ Lair for one reason: He’s one of the few necromancers powerful enough to reform souls that have been destroyed. If there’s any hope of recovering Lord Nebotus and resurrecting him, Domemane might be the only monster who can help Fayemalice and the other Nebotus faithful.

But that kind of necromancy comes at an enormous cost to the mage who wields it, and Domemane isn’t sure he wants to make such a huge sacrifice for a monster he’s never met. While he accepted Fayemalice’s offer to join Souls’ Lair, he hasn’t agreed to help resurrect Nebotus yet. Instead, he’s living large on the preferential treatment he gets from the dark lord’s supporters, who would give Domemane almost anything in exchange for his special powers.

But it’s not just the pro-Nebotus contingent who fawns over Domemane. Even though he’s a natural enemy of Soulblast and his group of supporters, they have a strong interest in staying on his good side in order to prevent him from fully allying with Fayemalice. So while Nebotus’s detractors hate Domemane for what he could do, they have no choice but to give him the royal treatment.

This strange tug-of-war suits Domemane just fine. Being a rather chaotic sort, he relishes the tension his presence causes almost as much as the fawning reception he always gets.
