Lore

As a child, Gonzo worshipped Baba Basheer, one of the legendary Adventurous Triad who founded the Adventurers’ Guild. He didn’t know of many other heroic primates, and he always thought that they even looked a bit alike. Growing up in an orphanage where he was the only primate monster meant that Gonzo’s childhood was difficult and lonely, so having a hero who looked like him meant everything.

While Gonzo’s upbringing was hard, it helped him develop amazing communication skills. He grew up speaking ten different monster languages, and was comfortable chatting to anyone. Everywhere Gonzo went, he made friends. He also tended to overhear very interesting secrets.

As soon as Gonzo came of age, he moved to the Village of Adventurers to follow in his hero’s footsteps. While he expected to spend his time analyzing ancient texts or teaching language lessons, Guildmaster Gregorz had more interesting plans. Once he learned of Gonzo’s incredible aptitude for language and ability to befriend anyone, he knew he had the perfect candidate to lead the Guild’s nascent network of informants. Now Gonzo coordinates spy missions all over Petra under the leadership of his childhood hero, Baba Basheer.
