The myth says that a rain of Stardust fell in a puddle of mud in a particularly dark corner of the swamp area of the forest and created a monster who's able to absorb souls. Now Rotten travels collecting souls from dead monsters. They make him stronger but rot his inner spirit. The more powerful he becomes, the stinkier he gets.
