Runes may be equipped to monsters to increase their stats. Team runes boost the stats of all monsters on the team (or in the habitat, with gold runes) while individual runes boost only the monster who has them equipped. Runes boost the following stats: power, speed, life, stamina, and gold production rate.
Runes Building
The Runes Building is where runes may be equipped, crafted, and purchased. It becomes available at player level 15. In order to craft and equip runes of higher levels, the building must be upgraded.

Equip
Each monster has a maximum of 3 slots where players may place runes. When a monster is hatched, it is randomly assigned between 1 and 3 slots for free. The second slot may be unlocked for 15 and the third slot for 25 .
Craft
Four runes can be crafted together to form a new one. The resulting rune level and type depend on the levels and types of the runes used to craft it. However, using runes of the same level guarantees a higher level rune will be produced.
The resulting rune level dictates the length of time required to craft the rune:
