This article is about The Chronicler, not to be confused with The Keeper.
Fluctuations in the Multiverse laid waste to the Library, erasing the history of several factions. The Keeper managed to replace these missing volumes by calling upon Faction leaders and Ancestors to help him rewrite their lost stories. For this great boon to monsterkind, he became known as The Chronicler ever after.

Lore[]
When The Keeper was put in charge of all recorded history, he expected things to stay the same forever. After all, only the future changes; the past can’t be altered.
Or at least, that’s what he thought before one day when he realized several important volumes were missing from the Library!
Due to a huge influx of changes in the Multiverse—to say nothing of a little deliberate tampering by Evaris il Obscuro in The Syndicate’s Book—the entire histories of several important Factions had been lost. What’s worse, The Keeper couldn’t even remember the original tales anymore, since he hadn’t read them in at least a decade.
There was only one thing to do: Call in the Faction leaders and have them help rewrite their origin stories. And depending on the Faction, this was easier said than done.
But despite the enormity of this task, The Keeper successfully persuaded all the Faction leaders to collaborate with him. He even called some long-forgotten Ancestors out of hiding with his extraordinary project. And where memories failed or voices quarreled, The Keeper was able to fill in the blanks and keep matters civil, acting as scribe, muse, and arbitrator all at once.
In recognition of this work, The Keeper was given a new identity: The Chronicler, so called because he had become the master architect of history as well as its guardian.
